Oh - a bonus from Louisburg Cider Mill? Well you are in luck, this recipe includes our very own Apple Cider Caramel Sauce!
Ingredients
3 Apples, either Red Delicious or Granny Smith
2 1/2 c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
3 c. Pretzels, chopped
Instructions
Prepare a large cookie sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat
Melt 2 c. of chocolate chips in the microwave or on the stove
Spread this smooth mixture onto the cookie sheet
Sprinkle the pretzels onto the chocolate mixture in an even layer
Dice your apples and pat dry to remove excess moisture - the dryer they get, the better they are for this recipe
Warm the caramel sauce int he microwave (approx. 15 seconds) and mix in with the apples
Pour this mixture onto the chocolate base and carefully spread
Place the pan into the fridge and allow to chill.
After around 30 minutes melt the remaining chocolate chips and drizzle this over your bark
Return to the fridge until set - ideally 2 hours or more
Once that is complete, you may remove from the fridge and break into pieces. Store tightly covered in the fridge for best results after cut
