Apple Dumplings

Apple season is always exciting at Louisburg Cider Mill. We stock a variety of different apples through the fall, and this is a great way to enjoy them in a warm, sweet, dessert!
Ingredients
• 1 Large Apple
• 1 Can Pillsbury Crescent dough
• 1/2 C. Butter
• 2/3 C. Granulated Sugar
• 1/2 tsp. Louisburg Cider Mill Ground Cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
• 3/4 C. or 6 oz. 7-UP
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350ºF and lightly spray an 8x8 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Peel the apple skin and cut apple into 8-10 wedges and set aside.
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
Roll each apple wedge into crescent roll dough starting at the wide end.
Pinch to seal and cover apple and place in the baking dish.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in the sugar and cinnamon.
Heat, whisking to combine.
The mixture will slowly combine and thicken. When it’s thickened, remove from heat and add vanilla.
Pour cinnamon mixture over the apple dumplings.
Pour soda over the dumplings.
Bake for 40 - 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
